About Paper Jacket

Paper Jacket is a media production company that helps businesses inspire, educate, and entertain with clear, well-crafted video content. We focus on producing work that is thoughtful, polished, and purposeful from start to finish.

We’re a small, collaborative team that cares about quality and doing work that holds up. Everyone here plays a role in shaping the final product, and we approach each project with a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.

The Role

This role is designed for someone who wants to grow within the production process while taking on meaningful responsibility from the start. You’ll support projects from prep through delivery, helping ensure shoots are organized, efficient, and aligned with the creative vision. On set, you’ll play an active role in capturing content, supporting direction, and learning how to lead productions over time.

The day-to-day is hands-on and varied. You’ll be working with gear, managing footage, assisting in post-production, and stepping in wherever needed to keep projects moving forward. As you gain experience, you’ll take on more ownership in shaping shoots and guiding decisions. It’s a great fit for someone who is dependable, eager to learn, and interested in developing both technical skills and creative leadership within a collaborative team.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare productions by organizing logistics, equipment, and assets based on direction from the Producer or Director
  • Support and occasionally lead on-set production, ensuring shoots stay on schedule and aligned with project goals
  • Communicate clearly with clients throughout the production process, both on set and off
  • Capture high-quality video and audio using a range of production equipment (cameras, phones, lighting, audio, etc.)
  • Manage footage and project files, maintaining organized and reliable workflows
  • Assist with editing, motion graphics, and post-production tasks, including revisions and final polish
  • Review and proof all deliverables to ensure quality and accuracy before client delivery
  • Coordinate production needs such as travel, scheduling, and on-set logistics
  • Maintain and organize production equipment and vehicles, ensuring readiness for all shoots
  • Collaborate with team members to problem-solve and adapt when plans change
  • Contribute creative ideas and support the development of each project from concept through completion
  • Participate in ongoing learning, team collaboration, and internal projects to improve skills and workflows

Who You Are

  • You have 2+ years of professional, on-the-job experience (agency or in-house creative environment preferred).
  • You’re fluent in Adobe Premiere (AE is a plus) and comfortable adopting new tools.
  • You have strong visual instincts paired with an understanding of process and client standards.
  • You’re a self-starter who values both independence and collaboration.
  • You’re detail-oriented, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality work consistently.
  • You know what to expect – there will be regular travel resulting in long days and/or overnight stays (we work to make it comfortable and fair).
  • You have no interest in ego battles. You simply love doing great work with good people.
  • REQUIRED: You can lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs, sometimes up and down stairs, to and from projects.
  • REQUIRED: You have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

What Success Looks Like

  • You follow the process, interpret instructions accurately, and communicate proactively.
  • You maintain the quality of work across every deliverable.
  • You deliver on time and take initiative to improve both work and workflow.
  • You contribute new ideas that advance creative outcomes.
  • You help elevate the team around you through collaboration, consistency, and care.

Perks & Benefits

  • Salary: $45,000 (+ up to $5,000/yr in benefits)
  • Health/dental: generous employer allowance toward your costs (up to $3,600/yr)
  • Vacation: earn 1 week of vacation per year, up to 5 total weeks off
